Children Without Choices was started by members of
Deep Run East Mennonite Church.
Barbara Rice, President and Director, has professional experience in finance and banking for the
past 38 years. She has been a member at Deep Run Mennonite Church East since 1975, serving
on various committees, mostly focused on mission and service. She has traveled to Honduras
annually over the past 12 years on medical service teams. She also serves on the MAMA Project
Board, an organization which sends medical and construction teams to Honduras.
Robert Moyer, Treasurer and Director, is a retired partner in local family business, managing
animal and bird food operations. He is a member of Deep Run East since 1992, and has been
actively involved in the church's outreach to Honduras since 2001.
Daryl Hackman, Secretary and Director, has been involved in business for 35 years, with a
background in management, accounting, and finance. He has been a member of Deep Run
Mennonite Church East for 32 years, and has served on various committees for the church.
Karen Detweiler, Director, is a veterinarian currently in practice in Bucks County. A member of
Deep Run East since 1992, she has served on several mission trips with MAMA, Christian
Veterinary Mission and Resource Exchange International.
Joseph Hohenstein, Director, is a retired business owner in Pipersville, PA, a member of Deep Run
Mennonite Church East and has traveled to Honduras annually to do construction projects for
the past 12 years.
